Interactive Backing Tracks
« on: October 24, 2016, 05:37:36 pm »
Hey guys!
So what do you think if we modernized our player a little bit and allowed users to turn off and on instruments being played in the backing track?
Would you be willing to send to us separate mp3 files for each instrument line?

Share your thoughts and suggestions here!

Hi!

They do it for the money ( http://tinyurl.com/z7dbkxm ), so why shouldn't you?  ;)

Their mixes sound crap to my ears, but the idea is as great as it gets!

Could be cool, an online 8 track player, allowing to play or download for separate tracks.

That forces to be more collaborative, because I'm not able to do tracks for voices (I'm not a good singer) if that's your idea.

So how is it going by now? Damp squib or not, the idea is still out and quite promising.

Yes, we're doing some progress.

Guys, feedback is needed!
Please check out this track and tell us what you think about it.
http://www.guitarbackingtrack.com/multitrack.php

Warning - this is a severe case of prototype :) It will be improved and that's why we need your help.
This is not a Master Track.
All guitars are recorded live and bass and drums are made in a DAW with VST plugins.

Any type of feedback is welcomed!
What's cool? What's not?
What can be improved in design?
What features and tools can we add?

P.S. The track can be now played (smoothly) only in Chrome web browser :P

Huge improvement to have ability to isolate tracks. Previously, many good backing tracks were not usable if you wanted an arrangement different than available.

New format will need to have a click track for lining up tracks in DAW.

Color Code tracks into various sections to make it easier to get a quick overview of the arrangement.

Idea: Bands submit songs which get voted on. The best move on to KaraOke Version where these bands are then paid a royalty per sale.
The "B-Rated versions" remain available for free but give the user the option to upgrade to the "A-Rated" Custom Tracks when available.

Great stie and very usable for performing musicians, teachers, new talent, hobbyists, etc.

So everything worked fine, a good job! But pls move Play and Pause buttons to the bottom, below the tracks.

Cool guitar playing BTW  8)

Someone could ask about a  tool to change the pitch (audio key) and speed (tempo) independently.

No way, someone can do it later in SForge or another software. Better results, trust my word. If you take the sound seriously of course  ;)

I see a lot of "fair-use" multitracks in OGG and MOGG formats on different websites. It might be a good idea to collect the most useful of them (and from respected artists, who are allowed to be here). It's easy to separate multitracks and convert them to mp3 files. Saves efforts when browsing, and you get a brilliant collection of stuff on the site.

For example, http://tinyurl.com/hu5wxwj

It's very slow, and shows ads. No good...

Most part of MOGG multitracks came from hacked Rock Band cd's, with original song multitracked.
Many of them are here, worked as backing tracks, with no guitars or vocals. I thing could be not faire using those multitracks with the whole song.

I know, but they are mixed. One cannot mute drums or bass on them.

Thanks for feedback, guys!
Changing pitch and tempo is being thoroughly considered :)
More feedback on why you need this and how it can be implemented will put the odds in favor of sooner implementation of these features :)

More feedback is needed!
:)
