Hmm, do you use FireFox on Ubuntu? I don't think FireFox on Linux would support the HTML5 implementation, so it would probably fallback to flash. You will need a recent version of the flash player for that to work. You can get it here:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Let me know if that helps.

Hello Good Friends,
I am a long-time member, but I have never accessed the on-line player. How can I get this and download onto my XP system?I ask because I would like to remove the vocals from some of the existing backings and believe that the on-line player can assist in this.
Thanks and I look forward to your response.....incidentlymy 'e'mail is john@blueseric.plus.com

Hi Blueseric,

please check your e-mail for a response. The onSITE player has nothing to do with customization of tracks. If you want custom tracks, please visit my partner site:

Hi I'm new to this site, let me explain what I'm looking for and know a lot of other bands / musicians need.

So we stumbled upon the backing tracks as we are a 3 piece band but cannot find a drummer, so Ive paid for and downloaded the custom backing tracks like holiday and American idiot by green day and deleted all instruments other than the click intro and the drum track...this is awesome and perfect. but there's a limited amount of tracks in that category, do you plan to bring it up to date soon if so i will be making more purchases and recommending this site.  surely it cant be too much of a job to take the guitar backing tracks with vocals and bass etc where you do have other tracks i.e. longview / 2000 light years away but annoyingly i cant get rid of the vocal and bass etc.

Cheers

Steve

Casino player not any longer works on my kindle fire or android cellphone.  Whenever I press portray the tune length changes to 40 minutes and also never ever begins.  Functions excellent on my laptop though.  Any sort of suggestions.

Hi,

that sounds weird. I have fixed a bug related to Android 2.3 (which the Kindle Fire is also running) and have verified that it works on Kindle Fire and Android 2.3 devices after that. I will try this again and see if I can reproduce the error.

It still works fine on my Android devices. You might need to have Flash installed though, please try that and see if that helps.

I am another Linux/FreeBSD user for which the HTML5 implementation does not work. I must now download the MP3 file. This makes it very hard to "browse" for a good track. As a result, I'm finding little advantage to using GBT over other websites or even YT.

Is there some way to provide a fallback solution for those with non-Windows/Apple PCs and devices? Maybe some way to detect whether a visitor's browser implements HTML5, and if not, fall back to Flash and/or JS?

Note also that Flash implementation on these other systems is usually a version or two behind the current MS/Apple Flash version, whatever it may be.

Thanks!

Well, the whole solution is based on the Jplayer (http://jplayer.org). It is supposed to have much wider browser support than the former solution which was Flash only (and thus did not support iOs among others). For browsers not supporting HTML5 is falls back to Flash. It uses JavaScript to decide about which solution to go for. The Flash requirement is minimum version 10.1 I think and that should be available for Linux as well.

Could you try to update to the latest Flash version for you OS if you have not done so already? Which browser are you using? IF not updated, please try to update the browser as well.

If this does not work, I would like to try to figure this out properly. Could you go to this site and click the "Send Details"? It sends your OS, browser and flash details to my e-mail:
