I recently heard a muso creating loads of sound from an fx box i think it is called looping
can anyone tell me what it was and where can i get one

check out Looping stations/pedals on google. they record what you play, then you can play over the top of that. my Peavey Vypyr amp has a loop function built in it, (Mine only records for about 30 seconds, good enough for me.) so when checking,,, see how long they record for. to see if its long enough for what you want.

if its different guitar sounds your after,,,check out multi fx pedals
 (hope this helps a bit).

Hey I've just bought a 'ditto' looper pedal
It's tiny but loops up to 5 mins with unlimited overdubs a really nice bit of kit

I've just bought a Boss BC-3, finding it hard to get the start and stop co-ordination to get a useable loop. It's not as easy as it looks from the demo's, but I'll keep at it.
