General Discussion / Re: Question from a newbie

Unfortunately Karaoke version and Guitar Backing Track are separate services. So you should contact http://www.karaoke-version.com/precontact.html for any questions.

Hi there,
You have 3 downloads a day.

All contributors though get unlimited downloads.

You can read more about it here ---> https://www.guitarbackingtrack.com/forum/index.php?topic=6948.0

Ufret seems to be a cool thing :)

Is it the best tab website in Japan?

3 downloads per day sounds very reasonable and is good enough for me. I download the track mainly for two reasons. I can use it in case 1) when I don't have internet access and 2) when I want to record my guitar playing with backing track using Cooledit.  So, I would only need to download the tracks for the songs I practice. By the way, thanks for running this site. For the beginner guitarist like me, it's really helpful and fun to play guitar.

Thanks for your feedback man! :)
Rock on!

Suggestions / Re: Jamtracks searching problem
« on: June 27, 2017, 08:46:10 am »
This website has a lot of potential.  I particularly like the Jamtracks and the ability to search by Genre, Key and BPM.  For me this would be the most frequently used feature of this website.

Keep up the good work!

However there are a few problems with the Jamtracks.

Suggestion 1:
A total of 69 Jamtracks have a blank BPM field, and I assume in these cases and possibly more the Genre field is blank as well. I know this because the genre field was left blank on my own recent submission, even though I specified it. This means I cannot search for my submission by genre.

Thus, if I search for "Blues" and "E" I get 3 Jamtracks, but when I search for just the Key of E I get a large list of results, and see the word "Blues" occurs 40 times within the list of titles. This would be due to the fact that 37 of those 40 titles have a blank "Genre" field. I presume that all of those 40 titles should have shown up in the search for both "Blues" and "E".

If submitters provide this information, it should be correctly entered.

Suggestion 2:
The Jamtracks need a unique submission form so that submitters can enter this information themselves. All three fields (Genre, Key and BPM) should be MANDATORY.

Suggestion 3:
It is great that the list of titles displays columns for Key and BPM.  It would be GREAT if the list of titles also had a column for "Genre"

Hi there!
I totally hear you, man! :)

Suggestion 1 - it's a bug. We shall fix this in the long run. Just need some time here as we'll be doing it manually.
Suggestion 2 - we'll do that!
Suggestion 3 - after we fix suggestion 1 and 2 the filter which is to the right from the list of jamtracks  will be working just fine. Tere's no plae for Genre field.

Rock on!

General Discussion / Re: How to upload a multitrack BT?

Hi there, and sorry for the late reply.
At the moment, there's no special form for submitting multitrack backing tracks.

We're considering implementing special form for submitting multitrack backing tracks.

Hi there,
Well If you just visit the home page you'll see that about 10 tracks are being added daily.

In fact I'm running a bit behind with the moderation lately due to working on a new project so around 200 tracks are piled in my pre-apprpove queue. I am really sorry If I am keeping anyone waiting for their tracks to appear. I will sort it all out by the middle of the next week.

So, to say the truth it may take up to 4-5 days until I get to review your tracks :)

Thanks a lot for your wish to contribute!

They are now sorted by number of hits.

We'll fix it asap.

I just always use the search and never actually browse.

Thanks for your feedback.

Hello Guitar Folks. Been streaming here for years, love this site. Hope it stays free.
Anyone noticing tonight suddenly I pick a song and I click "Play" and nothing happens. I haven't downloaded any songs in a long time.

I wonder if it's my firefox browser, but I changed nothing. Any song I pick will not play...weird.

Anyways, thanks for the site. I don't use app's or things like that, just a desk top PC, cubase, protools. etc. Thanks

Hey, I just checked with the latest version of Firefox and it worked just fine.
Please make sure to have the latest version.
However you can always install Chrome web browser and have no problems :)

A few things that I've noticed, and they've been ever since U.G. got involved...

1. The downloads (3 per day) lie. I've lost a download just pressing the play button to sample. Now only 2. This has happened on many occasions. The site is registering plays as downloads. Nonsense.

2. The previewer is no longer working in all browsers as it used to, particularly on iOS. This is a big problem. It used to work, now it doesn't, this is also a step backwards.

I do hope these issues are remedied. This is a great resource for my students, but I cannot recommend it if it's not reliable. Cost isn't the issue for me - it's the dependability.

Sorry for delay with with the reply.

1. Plays (or streams) are certainly not counted as downloads. We're paying royalties for each download you guys make and streams are free. So we simply have no reason to do so as you describe and that's a drag you used word "Lie". Sorry, dude, this is not cool at all.  This website is absolutely free but we have to impose a limit of 3 downloads a day to make the ends meet by the ads generated revenue.

I've just tried to reproduce the case when a stream (playing online) reduces the number of available downloads and wasn't able to do so.
Still get 3 downloads no matter how many times I hit play.

Downloading mp3 on iOS is tricky though.
When you click "dwonload" in Safari on iPhone or iPad you just get the a new tab opened (previewer) where you'll be offered to listen to a track but it won't be downloaded on your iOS device.
You need to have some app pre-installed on your iOS device in order to be able to download mp3s on it
Check this article for more details --> https://ios.gadgethacks.com/how-to/download-save-any-file-type-onto-your-iphone-0161744/

2.  Please elaborate on this.  What exactly isn't working for you?
Please be specific: what do you do and what doesn't seem to work?
Nothing happens when you hit "Download this backing track as mp3"?
What exactly you mean by "previewer"?

What is your device? What iOS version do you have?

Waiting for your response.
