Announcements / Tempo Workaround
« on: July 17, 2020, 03:22:00 am »
I just figured out that even though the tempo controls don't work, you can change the tempo by highlighting the 1.0 and typing another number there.

< 1.0 is slower
> 1.0 is faster

It works for me using Firefox on a WIN10 64bit laptop...

Announcements / All Users Please Read

Like any site, this one has rules for posting here. Please follow them because they exist for a reason:

1. All tracks you post should count into the song before it starts. 1, 2, 3, 4...do it with any sound you want but do it. It's important. The count in is a must because without it, you might not know when to start playing. Any track doesn't count in will be rated low even if it's a decent track because it's no good if you have to guess when to come in. Also, if you run across a track with no count in, please note that in the comments.

2. Convert your mp3s to the highest bitrate your audio converter will save them: 320kbps.

3. Don't post a song with all its tracks in it. That's not a backing track, it's a whole song. Don't post a track with both guitar parts unless there isnít a bass track. All tracks should either have no guitar tracks, or only one guitar track, or if it has both guitar tracks, there should be no bass track. Users will post bass backing tracks here sometimes too. No karaoke files. That's all the instruments with out the vocals. Those aren't backing tracks. Donít just post a guitar track. Thatís not a backing track.

4. If you see there is already 10 or more versions of a song, don't post another one. We don't need anymore versions of HOTEL CALIFORNIA. Every combination has been posted of it. Move on. Post a different backing track. All the Rockband and Guitar Hero files have been posted. Don't post anymore of them. We DO NOT need them.

5. Don't take low ratings personally. Some people might find your track awful while someone else might think it's great. And if you are going to comment on a track, please be constructive in your criticism. Don't just say a track is shit and not say why. That makes you a cunt and there are enough cunts in the world. DON'T BE A CUNT.

6. Don't post tracks with just one guitar track and nothing else because this is a guitar backing track site, all tracks must have the drum track too.
this is not a drum or keyboard backing track site, and its not a karaoke site.

7. Don't vote down a track just because it doesn't have vocals and you wanted  it to have vocals and vice versa when it does but you don't want them.

8. Every track you upload must have every instrument in the track correctly noted as follows:
Bass - is there a bass played in the song? select bass
Drums - are there drums in the song? select drums
Vocals - are there vocals included? select vocals
Lead - does it have a lead guitar track? select lead
Rhythm - is there a rhythm guitar played in the song? select rhythm
Keys - are there keyboards of any kind in it? select keys

DO NOT select an instrument that is not in the uploaded track. If you upload a guitar hero or rockband track that has bass listed as rhythm, don't select rhythm here, it's a bass, select bass. rhythm is for rhythm guitar.

you should never have all of them selected, that's a whole song. if you post a whole song, you will get banned.
if you have all of them except the vocals, that's a karaoke file, not a backingtrack. you will get a warning and if you do it again, you will be banned.

9. If the song is live or a remix or any other alternative to the well known version of the song, note that in the title.

Make any other suggestions you have for rules here, please.

Psychob posted two songs that are entire songs.
WHYMPER27 posted the entire Hell's Bells.
NikkIe877 posted 2 complete Reba McIntire Songs

« on: August 01, 2019, 08:12:52 pm »
People have been posting whole songs lately. That's going to get this place shut down.

That means all the tracks are in it, nothing is removed from it. It's the song as it's released, not a backing track.

In the Thanks and Spanks section, we're keeping a list of everyone who does it for the webmaster to delete their profiles as well as the songs they've posted.

Suggestions / Mispelled band names
« on: October 29, 2018, 02:53:27 pm »
So, when I first uploaded a  Lana Del Rey song, I spelled her name wrong. I spelled it del Ray. It's my fault there are two Lana Del Rey folders because I posted songs with her correct name and now there are two. There are quite a few other extra folders for bands:

Angeles Del Inferno
B.B. King
Ben E. King
Blackmore's Night
Blink 182
Bob Marley
Blues, Blues Backing track, Blues backing track in Bm, blues jam
Lana Del Rey
Police and The Police

There's a few in each section (letter).

Maybe you guys could consolidate those folders so that each band has one folder..?

Suggestions / We need a cull
« on: October 24, 2018, 02:43:38 pm »
How about we get rid of songs with more than one vote that are just ranked 1 star if there are higher ranked versions available as well?
If the one star version is the only one posted, it can stay but say there are 12 versions of a song, we can probably get rid of the lowest ranked versions and be better off.

As of now, there are 20 versions of "sultans of Swing" most of which are exactly alike.

Suggestions / Way to Reorder Songs of Submitters?
« on: October 04, 2018, 10:38:36 pm »
Like ok when you click on a submitter's name, it takes you to their tracks right? what if you could make the list order change from alphabetical to most recent or highest rated or some other category?

Well that sounds swell to me...

Suggestions / A way to replace a track rather than uploading another version
« on: September 02, 2018, 02:11:55 am »
For example, I've got some early uploads from when I first started uploading tracks that I would love to replace with better  versions and would rather replace those old crappy versions with just a newer better one, but it just adds the newer better version and keeps the crappy older tracks.

It'd be great if we had the option to replace tracks we've uploaded in the past without relying on the very busy moderators...
