this is how i do it---
I download a free midi file of the song i want, (b/c i'm lazy)
then import it to Fruity loops
then use drumkit from hell
and figure out which parts are which
and choose an instrument for each midi track so it sounds more realistic
i know it's easy, but it's fun to make

and sometimes on Audacity i will play around with the settings of the original old tracks to try to get rid of the guitar.
