I noticed that last week someone added a slew of tracks with vocals on them. Very good quality!..My question is "Are they the original artist on them singing"?..If so, how did you do it?..They sound damn close.

I know that the technology to remove vocals has been out for a long time, but I wasn't aware of anything to remove guitars..Perhaps they over-dubbed the vocals onto a pre-existing bt?..I'm certainly enjoying the Dio one!

Cheers

Could I thank everyone very much for the tracks, some are absolutely brilliant.
Could versions be made, with and without vocals ?  The version with vocals would be great for learning  but later you'd want the vocals off.   For a visual guide to help follow backing tracks, CDG information can be added like a count in, chord changes in sinc, in sinc lyrics, so you can learn the songs very quickly and play em back in winamp with the karaoke plugin.
Can I just say that these tracks are much better than karaoke for obvious reasons. They are made for musicians.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll try to add a label on the tracks that have vocals on them so you don't have to listen to all the tracks yourself to figure it out.

How can I de-vocalize green river backing track ?  Audacity has a way of taking out the mids where the vocals usually sit but I find it ruins the quality somewhat.   It inverses the left and right tracks so the vocal is set far away.  This is usually no good when it's played back through an amp mixer in mono (one speaker) the vocal returns. If they had back up singing on they would be alright but I can't use them with lead vocals.
